From 5 Days to 14 Hours: Transforming offshore leak detection in the UAE.

Faced with complex well integrity issues in an offshore, dual completion, sour gas injector well, the operator needed a rapid survey to detect low-rate annulus leaks, identify their depth, rate and location and discriminate between multiple possible sources.  WellSense, in partnership with Wellbore Integrity Solutions provided the answer, with a full diagnosis in just 14 hours.

Using dynamic de-spooling bare fibre, Fli delivered real-time acoustic and thermal profiling, enabling our analysts to provide detailed answers. Key results included:

✅ Primary A-annulus leak origin pinpointed at 2,910 – 2,920 ft. in the short string

✅ Mapped multiple dynamic flow paths, origins and leak rates between the tubing and annuli

✅ Identified depth of gas-liquid interface in the A-annulus

✅ Light footprint, high efficiency and reduced risk thru-tubing intervention survey taking just 14 hours

✅ Less personnel in the red zone

✅ Data enabled accurate risk classification and highly targeted remediation

✅ The anticipated downtime and deferred production was greatly reduced, reinstating millions of dollars in revenue.
